Lynn Swann is an professional football player, broadcaster, athletic director, and politician. He was a National Football League wide receiver. He was voted Super Bowl MVP for Super Bowl X (1976), playing with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and was inducted into the Football Hall of Fame. He was on the President’s Council of Fitness, Sports and Nutrition, from 2002 to 2005.
Lynn is the son of Mildred and Willie Edward Swann. He is married to psychologist Charena, with whom he has two children.
Lynn’s maternal grandfather was named Fred James McGarity.
Lynn’s maternal grandmother was Mammie Dean (the daughter of Osborne Dean and Ella White).
