Havoc is an American rapper and music producer. He was a member of hip hop duo Mobb Deep, along with Prodigy. His late younger brother, Todd aka Killa Black, often appeared in Mobb Deep’s videos and was frequently mentioned in their songs.
Havoc grew up in Queens, New York City, the son of Mercedes Adams and Todd Muchita, who were New York natives. A photo of Havoc with his mother can be seen here.
Havoc’s paternal grandfather was named Carlton Bouvier Muchita. Carlton was born in Virginia. According to an article featuring Carlton’s son, George, Muchita is a French surname (pronounced moo-shee-ta), and possibly comes from French slaveowners. Muchita is not in fact a French name, but rather Hungarian. There were Hungarian immigrants who lived in the South as far as the Civil War, and some may have been slaveowners. The name may also be a variation on a French name like Mouchette.
Havoc’s paternal grandmother was Ruth Butler (the daughter of Albert Luther Butler and Julia Wright). Ruth was born in Aiken, South Carolina. Albert was the son of Charlie Butler and Lizzie Ashley.
