Coco Gauff is an American professional tennis player. She has been ranked at world No. 2 in singles, and world No. 1 in doubles, by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA). In singles, her wins include two majors at the 2023 US Open and 2025 French Open, and the 2024 WTA Finals. In doubles, her wins include the 2024 French Open, with Kateřina Siniaková.
She is the daughter of Candi, a college track-and-field athlete, and educator, and Corey Gauff, who played college basketball, and is a health care executive. Coco was partly raised in Delray Beach, Florida, where she trained in tennis. She is a Christian.
Coco is sometimes described as having Haitian ancestry. Both of her parents are of African-American lineage, with deep American roots. If she has Haitian ancestry, it is distant.
