Cynthia McKinney is an American politician, anti-war activist, and conspiracy theorist. As a member of the Democratic Party, she was a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Georgia, from January 3, 1993 to January 3, 2003, and again, from January 3, 2005 to January 3, 2007.
She was the Green Party’s nominee for President of the United States, in 2008, and the Green Party of Alaska’s nominee for Vice President of the United States, in 2020.
Cynthia is the daughter of Leola Christian, a nurse, and Billy McKinney (born James Edward McKinney), a law enforcement officer, civil rights activist, and politician, who was a Georgia State Representative. She has one child with her former husband Coy Grandison.
Cynthia’s paternal grandfather was a saxophone player.
Cynthia’s paternal grandmother was named Ann Turner Lewis. Ann was a jazz singer.
